Wintry travel book
Hello everybody and HAPPY NEW YEAR to all of you once again!
Today I will share my latest mixed media travel book. It was meant as a present for a young lady-traveller, whose birthday is right before the New Year´s eve, so I decided to make its cover cold and wintry, using the most popular winter colours (to the left). It is quite unusual colour scheme for a travel book, moreover for a GRUNGE travel book :) But I like to experiment.
The cover is made of thick cardstock, covered partially with lace and grounded with white gesso. Later on I painted it a bit using ink spray and alcohol inks, then added stamps. The cover is decorated with background chipboard (honeycomb) from Wycinanka which I painted green and other embellishments, quite many brads and 7 Dots text stickers. All the dividers inside are different, also decorated with sprays, ink stamps, postal stamps, stickers, scrap paper, little photos. And there´s still lots of space for the traveller to fill in with her notes, memories, scraps and photos.
