Mixed media greeting cards FOR HIM and FOR HER, like perfume :)

Hi guys!

I've decorated Wycinanka castle model, using paper and embossing powder, as well as brads and little plastic flowers. I've made it in pink and grey, girly but sophisticated colour scheme. This fairy-tale castle is perfect to decorate a window table in a room of a little girl (and a big girl too :). It is also interesting to put a little light behind the castle to create a mysterious night light effect.

There are comic series that I really love - called Elf Quest. I've been in love with them and reading them for nearly 20 years, since the first time I accidently came across this comic in a book shop. I've spent a lot of time and money in search of past issues :) By now many of the old issues have been digitized and made available to all for free here. By the way, these comics are already over 35 years old, but still very popular in the narrow circles of the connoisseurs of the elven fiction. I adore Elf Quest for the beautiful story with fascinating characters and for the high artistic level of the drawings of the author and main artist Wendy Pini. There are always actual life topics being touched in this comic book: choice of destiny, freedom of love, commitment to the call of blood and fight against human (yes, there are not only elves :) fears and prejudices.

The main characters of my mixed media layout are young lovers Teir and Ember, captured at the moment of their reunion after a forced separation. For me, this young couple breathes love, freshness and tenderness, and I tried to convey it in my work.

I´ve made this romantic layout in order to participate in the 7 Dots Studio October-November challenge Wood grain texture. (I've already mentioned that 7 Dots is my favourite scrap paper producer :)) The layout is called "My Golden Fall Memories" and I totally love how it turned out :)

I used a sheet of dark 7Dots Destination Unknown paper "Walk the Plank" as the base. It is my favourite of the collection.

Neli neist on abstraktsed, erksad, suvised, viies aga dekooriga kaunistatud, romantiline, vana ja pisut "väsinud". Igas pannoos on kasutatud tekstuurpastasid, sprei-, akrüülvär- ja guaššvärvid, vedalat kulda, stampe. Viimases on lisaks veel paatina, tekstiil, pits.

Today I will show you five decorative pictures I´ve made using mixed media and monotyping technique. First four are abstract, bright, summery, and I love them a lot :) The fifth one is more romantic, vintage, decorated with additional elements. I used texture paste, spray and acrylic paints, liquid gold and stamps in every picture. The fifth´s background is also of textile and lace, decorations are aged with patina.
